We are all just trying to make this world a better place. Working together. Witnessing together.

Dawn broke bread with Lucio

Dawn Adams, a member of the MACUCC Immigration and Refugee Task Team, shared dinner with Lucio Perez, a father and husband who has a current deportation order from ICE. Lucio has been in the care of First Church Amherst since October 19, 2017.

Margaret, Emma and I sat in

Margaret Bullitt-Jonas, Missioner for Creation Care for both the Conference and the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts, and Emma Brewer-Wallin, former climate intern for the Conference and current intern at Old South Church in Boston joined me at the Statehouse as we staged a sit-in calling on Governor Baker to ban the construction of all fossil fuel infrastructure in the state.

Amesbury and Winchester encouraged their neighbors to “Be the Church”

In response to positive community reaction to “Be the Church” banners, the Conference launched a contest and give-away. Main Street Congregational Church UCC in Amesbury and First Congregational Church in Winchester UCC were among the 20 churches who won, received a banner, and let that UCC light shine!

We ask for your gift so that we can continue to support UCCers and congregations together:

  • to cultivate pastoral excellence through programs like Super Saturday and Clergy Communities of Practice
  • to make God’s love and justice real through justice and witness ministries
  • to nurture church vitality by resourcing and networking small membership churches and new ministries
  • to share the best practices of our most vital congregations, gleaned from one another and our work with churches through New Beginnings, Crossroads, Making it Real, and Churches Alive programs

By doing what we can, when we can, we are living the Love and Justice of Jesus.

Please join me in making a generous personal gift

to the 2018 Annual Appeal of the Massachusetts Conference.

In gratitude for your generosity and faithfulness,

The Rev. Dr. Jim Antal

Conference Minister and President
